Zinedine Zidane Early Life:
Zinedine Zidane, commonly known as Zizou, was born in Marseille, France, to Algerian immigrants. He began playing football at a young age, showing exceptional skill and vision. Zidane's talents were evident early on, leading him to join the local club, AS Cannes, at the age of 14.
Career Beginnings:
Zidane made his professional debut with AS Cannes at 17. His performances quickly attracted attention, and he moved to Bordeaux in 1992, where he further established himself as a top midfielder.
Juventus (1996-2001):
In 1996, Zidane joined Juventus, one of Italy’s most prestigious clubs. During his time with Juventus, he won two Serie A titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and reached the UEFA Champions League final twice. Zidane's creativity and elegance on the ball earned him worldwide recognition and several individual awards, including the FIFA World Player of the Year in 1998 and 2000.
Real Madrid (2001-2006):
In 2001, Zidane transferred to Real Madrid for a then-world record fee. At Real Madrid, he became part of the Galácticos, a team filled with superstar players. Zidane's tenure at Real Madrid was highlighted by his famous volley goal in the 2002 UEFA Champions League final, which helped secure the title. He also won a La Liga title in 2003. Zidane retired from club football in 2006, finishing his career with 37 goals in 155 appearances for Real Madrid.
International Career:
Zidane's international career with the French national team was equally illustrious. He earned 108 caps and scored 31 goals. Zidane was instrumental in France’s 1998 World Cup victory, scoring two goals in the final against Brazil. He also led France to victory in the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament. Zidane's international career concluded in dramatic fashion during the 2006 World Cup, where he scored a crucial goal in the final but was sent off for a headbutt. Despite the red card, he won the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player.
Coaching Career:
After retiring as a player, Zidane transitioned into coaching. He took over as the manager of Real Madrid in 2016 and led the team to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles (2016, 2017, 2018), a feat unprecedented in the modern era. Zidane also won two La Liga titles as a manager, establishing himself as one of the top coaches in the world.

Zidane is married to Véronique Fernández, and they have four sons, all of whom are involved in football. Known for his calm demeanor off the field, Zidane has been involved in various charitable activities, including work with the United Nations.
